The annual Conference on Illinois History is scheduled for October 5-6, 2017, at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in downtown Springfield and is the state's largest meeting devoted to the history of the Prairie State.
The conference includes 24 sessions that feature topics such as politics, Abraham Lincoln, archaeology, living history, historic preservation, race, music, immigration, and the Civil War. The Luncheon Speakers are Stuart Layne, Executive Director, Illinois Bicentennial Commission and Louise Bernard, Director, Museum of the Obama Presidential Center. Teachers will benefit from workshops on a variety of topics.
