RESCOM Environmental Corp. is seeking a Cultural Resources Specialist for its Fort Wayne,

Indiana, office.

Typical Job Duties:

Conduct historical background research.

Prepare National Register nominations.

Assess historic resources to determine eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places.

Consult National Register of Historic Places databases and nomination forms.

Consult state and local GIS for cultural resources.

Label maps using GIS and Adobe software.

Write technical reports following approved formats.

Update databases.

Search for, digitize, and file documents on a cloud-based system.

Communicate with project teams to meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, Architecture, Historic Preservation, History,

or a related field.

Strong writing skills.

Ability to produce reports quickly with very few if any errors.

Ability to follow standards.

Strong attention to detail.

Strong computer skills.

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word.

Works well in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications:

Graduate degree in Architecture, Historic Preservation, History, or a related field.

Coursework completed in American architectural history.

Professional experience writing technical reports.

Knowledge of NEPA and Section 106 of the NHPA.

Meets the Secretary of the Interiors qualifications for history or architectural history.

Experience preparing National Register nominations.

Experience preparing determinations of eligibility for historic resources.
