Architectural Historian

This specialist must have background and experience negotiating, authoring, and interpreting legal agreement documents, specifically those used to resolve adverse effect for historic properties under the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 106. This specialist must have experience working closely with the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, the State Historic Preservation Office and the grantee in implementing the regulations contained in 36 CFR §800.

Historic Preservation Specialist:

 

This specialist must meet the Secretary of the Interiors professional qualifications and have a  professional experience with a State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) or similar preservation agency or department. This specialist must have a minimum of one year of dedicated professional experience with Section 106 compliance and review in a State Historic Preservation Office or similar preservation agency or department. This specialist must have knowledge of and experience working with the National Register of Historic Places, to include identification and evaluation of significant buildings, structures, objects, sites and districts. This specialist must have demonstrated ability to make determinations of eligibility and conduct assessments of effects under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. This specialist must have a knowledge of and experience working with the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties, as well as the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings for use in assessing effects to historic structures.
