Employer
Aeon Preservation Services

Aeon Preservation Services LLC (Aeon) is an architectural conservation firm located in Bladensburg, Maryland that was established to provide high-quality technical preservation services with one objective: to bridge the gap between building owners, architects, and contractors in the pursuit and execution of preservation projects at unique, historic, and iconic buildings and monuments nationwide. Building on the decades-long career of its founders in providing technical conservation services to the design community, our mission is to apply our expertise in collaborating with some of the best contractors in their respective trades and specialties to achieve world-class project planning and execution for historic properties and monuments. In fulfilling this mission, Aeon takes on a wide variety of roles in conservation and preservation construction. We provide quality control and historic preservation oversight, offer preservation project management, and conduct our own hands-on work, either as a sub-contractor or on a design-build basis. Most of our project sites are in or around Washington, DC but Aeon currently has projects in Norfolk VA and Texas and we have previously worked on projects in places as far away as Hawaii. Our current projects include the U.S. Capitol, Russell Senate Building, U.S. Naval Academy Chapel & Halligan Hall. We are looking for candidates to help us manage our abundant work load.

Aeon has an immediate opening for a Historic Preservation Specialist to join our expanding team. The HPS will work on an ongoing project in Washington D.C. providing technical observation.  It will also include working on historic preservation projects on some of the most iconic of Washington D.C.s government buildings.  The primary job is to help Aeon and our partners provide the highest quality work and protection of historic materials.

The Historic Preservation Specialist will provide project supervision for construction activities and monitor subcontractor performance. Day-to-day requirements include documenting the progress of the work with photographs and field reports, photographing issues, maintaining a construction diary, reviewing submittals, attending meetings, and producing RFIs field reports, mock-ups, and punch-outs of completed work. Some of our reports are done with electronic documentation such as Procore, Plan Grid, or Bim360. The HPS must be able to work with contractors and represent our firm in front of our client in weekly progress meetings. We hope to develop a good working relationship with the selected historic preservation specialist and can offer full time employment after the six-month trial. We will have the work to keep on employees that are a good fit.
