United Building Envelope Restoration (UBER) is a fully licensed, bondable class “A” contractor and subsidiary of United Masonry, Inc. UBER specializes in all aspects of exterior building renovation ranging from historical work to general repair and building modernization. We specialize in air barriers, caulking, cleaning, masonry, concrete repair or replacement, and water infiltration and mitigation. We are especially proud of our reputation for rehabilitation, restoration, preservation and reconstruction of structural, load-bearing and veneer-based exterior facades.

UBER currently has a full-time opening for a 2017 summer intern who may be interested in some or all of the associated fields:

  • Construction
  • Construction Management
  • Masonry, Bricklaying, etc.
  • Historic Preservation
  • Project Estimating
  • Safety Management

Experience with Microsoft Excel is a plus.

Schedule and length of stay are relatively flexible.

40 hours/week available if desired.

Driver's license and personal car is a plus since our office is located in Manassas, VA but our jobsites are located throughout the DC Metro/Northern VA/Maryland area.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to collaborate and achieve results with supervision, including ability to interact professionally with key internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills required, with ability to prioritize, multi-task efficiently, and meet deadlines in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Friendly and professional demeanor on the phone and in writing, with ability to speak and write clearly in English.
  • Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse colleagues; connections to or experience helping to engage culturally diverse audiences and partners a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required, including Outlook, Word and Excel. Familiarity with other software, including CRM systems, Adobe Suite, PowerPoint and Mailchimp a plus.
  • Bachelor's level studies (or equivalent years of experience) required; current or rising juniors, seniors or graduate students preferred. Studies or demonstrated interest in Non-profit Fundraising, Public or Non-Profit Management, Event and Conference Management, Communications and/or Donor Stewardship preferred.
  • Regular and reliable attendance required.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
