Job Summary:

The Executive Director for the Brooksville Main Street program is an experienced, self-motivated individual responsible for leading and maintaining a strong, aggressive downtown revitalization program for the City of Brooksville, Hernando County. A full time, high-profile position within the community, an effective Executive Director will require creativity, public relations/marketing skills, proficient technological skills, professionalism and a strong senses of confidentiality.

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with the Brooksville Main Street Chairpersons, Brooksville Vision Foundations Board of Directors and affiliates to assist, define, maintain or enhance the programs mission, goals and policies according to State and National Main Street requirements.
  • Represent the Brooksville Main Street program at the local, state and national levels.
  • Organize and manage volunteers to coordinate activities of the Four Main Street Committees by developing and implementing work plans.
  • Develop, in conjunction with the Brooksville Main Street chairperson, downtown economic development strategies that are based on historic preservation.
  • Manage the administrative aspects of the program including record keeping, budget development and management; accounting; and assisting in all fundraising efforts.
  • Research and file for state and federal grant possibilities as well as seeking future funding opportunities for the program including stakeholder contributions, loans and tax incentives.
  • Create, coordinate and enhance events, promotion, advertising, marketing and tourism strategies with existing businesses, organizations, community groups, etc., maximizing the Communitys image and retail opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison between business owners and existing business resources.
