The applicant selected will
Perform work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
Be responsible for all technical design aspects of an assigned project including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions.
Be responsible for all design and technical aspects of projects, under the direction of a Principal.
Provide architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projects.
Makes independent decisions on significant architectural problems and carries out complex assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
Requirements of the position are
A degree in Architecture with 15 years of experience, at least five of which have involved historic preservation projects.
Active California Architecture License.
The willingness to work as a team member and assist other Studios as necessary
Able and willing to travel outside of local area in order to attend meetings at various sites
High levels of activity and productivity with excellent attention to detail
Ability to clearly convey information and ideas verbally and graphically
The ability to quickly grasp new concepts
Self-directed with a willingness to interact as a team player and take independent initiative
Creative problem solving capabilities
Preference will be given to candidates that also hold the following qualifications
Preservation planning expertise
A Masters degree in Architecture, Historic Preservation or Architectural History
Experience with materials conservation
Proficient in Revit
Professional experience interacting with general contractors or construction managers
