Cultural/Historical Resource Specialist

Fort Belvoir, VA



CULTURAL/HISTORICAL RESOURCES MANAGER: Supports the CRM program for our client at Fort Belvoir, VA in the implementation of federal historic preservation responsibilities, including review and compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and Determination of Eligibility for National Register listings. Project/plan review, Section 106 Consultation, and Section 110 experience is essential. The primary work location is on-site at Fort Belvoir, VA. Candidates must be a US citizen and successfully pass a National Clearance background check.  There are no relocation expenses available for this position. 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Candidates should possess a BS/BA in historic preservation, conservation, or equivalent MS/MA preferred & 3-5 years of historic preservation/cultural resource management experience.  


  • Experience in preparing Section 106 Consultation Letters.
  • Experience in preparing Section 110 Nominations.
  • Experience with interacting with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written), presentation, and consultative skills are required.  Must possess superior customer service skills and demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional team members.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  The work to be performed takes place in an office setting.
