Under supervision, the Architect II will coordinate the Chicago Landmarks permit review process, including review of permit applications, review of pre-permit projects, conducting site visits, communicating with applicants and stakeholders, writing reports and making presentations to the Commission on Chicago Landmarks and performing related duties as required

DUTIES

Review permit applications and architectural plans for compliance with guidelines and standards

Visit construction sites to verify compliance of permit conditions

Conduct pre-permit review meetings and coordinate solutions with applicants

Consult manufacturers and consultants on technical issues as needed

Analyze pre-permit projects and prepare reports and presentation materials for monthly committee meetings

Make presentations at both internal and public meetings

Coordinate with other government organizations in expediting projects through different agencies

Manage larger or other division projects beyond permit process

Work with established timelines, process and monitor the progress of assigned projects

Track and maintain required documentation for assigned projects

Respond to general inquiries from the public by phone and email

Other related duties as assigned
