Tudor Place Historic House & Garden is a National Historic Landmark house museum located in the heart of Washington, DC's Georgetown area. Firmly rooted in the community, Tudor Place Foundation’s mission is to educate the public about American history and culture. Its focus is on the historical development of the Federal City and the Nation’s Capitol Region from the 18th century as seen through the lens of Tudor Place, home of Martha Washington’s granddaughter and six generations of her descendants, the Custis-Peter family. The Foundation is committed to protecting, preserving, maintaining, and interpreting the historic property and the collections, while instilling the value of the past in the public perception.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title:Facilities Manager

Reports to:Director of Preservation

Classification: Full-time, Exempt

Budget Responsibility: Maintenance budget

Supervisory Scope: Supervises one (1) staff member

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Tudor Place, a historic house museum in Washington, DC, seeks a Facilities Manager to preserve and maintain the physical condition of the 1806 National Historic Landmark house museum and all other buildings and structures on the property in a condition of excellence, cleanliness, and safety, following preservation standards as outlined in the Buildings Conservation Policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Facilities Manager reports to the Director of Preservation and will, in collaboration with other staff members, manage a variety of facilities maintenance-related tasks aimed at upholding the appearance, functionality, safety, and long-term preservation of the built environment.

Position duties include Maintenance and Operations, Housekeeping, Security, and Administrative tasks.

Salary is based on experience.
