SUMMARY: The Executive Director of the non-profit 501c-3 organization known as Historic Rock Hill shall be responsible for the management of the White Home and its grounds and staff and will also be responsible for all fundraising/development aspects including contributed income, memberships, rentals and fundraisers. Oversees all programming, grant writing, exhibition scheduling, budget preparation, administration, board development and marketing. Should have excellent written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and be a team builder.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Responsible for soliciting and gathering voluntary contributions like money or other resources by requesting donations from individuals, businesses, charitable foundations, or governmental agencies. Coordinates all fundraising strategies and responsible for most aspects of fundraising programs. Responsible for identifying new donors and organizing initiatives to solicit funding as well as assisting in developing major gift opportunities and writing grant proposals.
Manages all fundraising/development related activities
· Tracking donations in a database, which sometimes involves entering the information manually
· Monitoring ongoing activity of all donations
· Sending thank you letters to donors
· Planning fundraising events such as the Oyster Roast
· Writing emails to lists of people who have shown participation or support in the past
· Doing research to find grants that Historic Rock Hill (HRH) is eligible for
· Setting up appointments with potential funders and making asks
Oversees rental program at the White Home.
Seeks new partnerships and venues through which HRH can serve its mission more effectively.
Is the face of Historic Rock Hill (HRH) in the community.
Maintains active content knowledge of the White Home and its exhibits.
Speaks upon request to local groups interested in the White Home and Historic Rock Hill.
Serves as an ex-officio board member and is present at board and specific committee meetings.
Coordinates the activities of specific board committees to include fundraising, membership, strategic long range planning, marketing, programming and facility rentals.
In conjunction with the Treasurer, develops and presents to the Board of Directors the annual budget and manages as directed throughout the year.
Maintains effective working relations with the board, political bodies, organizations, donors and the general public.
