Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated experienced cultural resource specialist.  The location for this position will be decided based on the needs of both Mead & Hunt and the successful candidate.Responsibilities include completing and leading activities for Section 106 compliance such as identification and evaluation of cultural resources and applying the National Register criteria; conducting research and site visits; preparing compliance reports including historic contexts, property descriptions, and determinations of eligibility; managing projects; and working with clients.  Some travel will be required.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • a masters degree in historic preservation or a related field such as history, architectural history, archaeology, anthropology, public history; AND

 

  • at least seven years of cultural resource management experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: completing cultural resource management activities for Section 106 compliance (surveys, evaluation, contexts); experience with transportation and federal projects; project management experience including leading a team, client communication, and adhering to a schedule and budget; previous experience with agency and stakeholder coordination.
