The Martin House Restoration Corporation (MHRC) is seeking an experienced retail professional with strong management, buying and merchandising skills to serve as the Museum Store General Manager / Buyer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of retail operations at the Martin House Museum Store located at the Darwin D. Martin House Complex in Buffalo, NY, as well as associated e-commerce sales. The General Manager/Buyer will oversee daily shop operations, merchandise purchasing, inventory control (Retail Pro POS), product development, visual merchandising and shop staffing- both paid and volunteer. He/she will also ensure the optimal customer experience for visitors to this National Historic Landmark designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
The individual will be responsible for growing the retail business bricks and mortar and online shop - and will be charged with developing budgets and retail goals in a growth oriented organization working within the guidelines of an existing retail business plan.
A bachelors degree in business, retail management or related field with a minimum of four years experience in a managerial retail and/or buying position is required. Applicants should be self-motivated, resourceful and comfortable working in a collaborative environment with other senior staff members, and should possess excellent written, verbal communication and computer skills.
