This position reports directly to the City Manager; serves as the coordinator of the City's community and economic development activities; responsible for recruiting new business and industry and actively promoting retention and expansion of existing businesses; acts as Main Street Director and liaison to many civic groups; administers the City's Zoning Ordinance, comprehensive planning and all related activities; designs, coordinates and implements special activities and events; assists the City Manager in public information media and publicity related activities; coordinates and implements the City's tourism program and activities.

Minimum job requirements are a bachelors degree from an accredited university in the field of economics, planning, public administration, or a related field.  One or two years experience in a professional setting is required.  Experience working in a municipal management or economic development environment is preferred.  Completion of the Texas Basic Economic Development Course is preferred.  Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
