This full-time senior position will work  closely with the Executive Director and the Board to help develop, and supervise ongoing programs and development activities. Responsibilities will include: 

Oversee development work.

Perform development research.

Maintain current municipal and private funders.

Pursue foundation support through grant-writing.

Plan & oversee corporate and individual cultivation campaigns.

Create project budgets and pursue program-related development.

Create and file reporting on all grants and organizational matters.

Oversee and assist with fundraising events.

Provide support for public policy campaigns & advocacy programs.

Maintain and enhance communications with elected officials, municipal agencies and community-based groups.

Development and implement public educational & outreach programs.

Represent HDC in the absence of HDCs Executive Director or President.

Candidates must have experience with New York City non-profit organizations or government agencies. Background in museums, environmental or human rights causes, or community development desired. Familiarity with New York City and local history is assumed. New York City area residents only.
