The Missouri State Historic Preservation Office is a group of committed professionals that manages the National Register of Historic Places program of the National Park Service in Missouri. The program surveys, inventories, and registers historical properties; monitors state, federal, and local government activities which affect cultural and historic resources; provides advice on preservation methods; promotes public education on historical properties; and supports municipal and county historic preservation commissions.

Job responsibilities include review of state and federal projects for effects on historic resources in

compliance with state and federal legislation; review project applications for federal Investment Tax

Credits and state historic rehabilitation tax credits; and the development and administration of

programmatic historic building rehabilitation programs with local communities in compliance with

federal historic preservation law.
