TITLE:                       Brick Mason Supervisor

 

 

 

LOCATION:             Fort Delaware State Park, New Castle County, Delaware City DE

 

 

 

SALARY:                  The position is renewable contractual.  Salary is $35,994 -$44,992. Benefits include medical, dental, disability and life insurance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Fort Delaware State Park, Delaware City - Delaware State Parks (DNREC) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Brick Mason Supervisor, responsible for performing the following duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee an intern work crew of semiskilled students/seasonal employees in masonry repairs at Fort Delaware, Fort DuPont and other historic structures within Delaware State Parks.

  • Supervise interns/seasonal employees, train, assign duties, evaluate, and work alongside employees.

  • Inspect masonry forts and historic structures and recommend repairs to Supervisor

  • Create job duty lists and prioritize projects.  Provide input to management on the design/layout of projects and recommend modifications based on application principles/practices and techniques of preserving historic structures/forts.

  • Prepare supply lists, estimate project costs.

  • Ensure all proper safety standards are followed by masonry crew.

     

    Qualifications needed include:

     

 

  • Eight years experience in repairing historic masonry of all types

  • Five years experience in applying Secretary of Interior Standards for historic structures

  • Three years experience in supervision and establishing work  projects and schedules

  • Three years experience  in project documentation

  • Experience in applying Section 106 best practices in masonry repairs  of the National  Historic Preservation Act
