TRC Environmental Corporation has an immediate opening for an experienced architectural historian to be based in either TRCs Atlanta, GA, or Lanham, MD (outside Washington DC) office. Candidates must meet the Secretary of the Interiors qualifications for architectural historian (36 CFR, part 61); have a Masters degree in architectural history or historic preservation; and at least 8 years experience in Section 106-driven projects, survey and identification, National Register evaluation, and HABS/HAER documentation. The ideal candidate must possess broad knowledge of cultural resources program management, including experience with Section 106 compliance working directly with federal agencies; experience with NHPA Section 110, Section 4(f) of the US Department of Transportation (USDOT) Act; researching and developing historic contexts, National Register nominations, and working with archeologists to produce cultural resource compliance documents.
Candidates must be able to work as part of an interdisciplinary team with other cultural resource and environmental professionals on short deadlines; experience working on pipeline and other linear projects is a plus, and ability to travel on short notice and work extended hours as needed is a must.
