Pacific Legacy, Inc., a Cultural Resources Management firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Office Manager with at least five years of supervisory experience in general office management and archaeological project-related duties.  Candidates must have considerable experience managing a fast paced office. It is necessary that the candidate live close to the Lancaster area or be willing to relocate to that area.

 

Candidates must have a Masters degree or higher in Anthropology or related field and prior experience supervising field crews. 

 

Job Capabilities:

  • Leadership (decision making, team building, conflict resolution and problem solving);
  • Professional report writing skills, research and literature reviews; prepare DPR site records, survey and monitoring reports;
  • General office management (track inventories, office and field equipment, review employee timesheet and expenses, assist in hiring staff, manage employee training)
  • Scheduling of field crews for survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery.
  • Coordinate with Business Office and Project Staffing Coordinator
  • Prepare scopes of work and proposed budgets;
  • Ability to coordinate and work with State and Federal Agencies, and Native American Consultation;
  • Prepare and process field permits and authorization;
  • Oversee lab processing and special studies coordination;
  • Attend project specific meetings;
  • Prepare activity reports.

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate:

  • Is positive, motivated and detail-oriented;
  • Has experience in California and Great Basin archaeology;
  • Is able to travel and manage multiple projects as well as large field crews;
  • Is a proficient writer and communicator;
  • Is schooled and stays current in anthropological theory and methods;
  • Produces reports in a timely manner;
  • Demonstrates a history of meeting project budget and schedule requirements; and
  •  Is able to work with the public as well as State and Federal Agencies
