Description: Clinton Brown Company is the full-service historic preservation architecture firm serving Upstate New York and Southern Ontario. We are seeking a qualified intern architect to assist with a current project that includes the expansion and alterations to an institutional building. This would be an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to see a project from design development through construction. Responsibilities include all phases of project development including the production of schematic designs, construction documents, code and zoning review, technical specifications, cost estimates, AIA documents, bidding and negotiation, and feasibility studies. Candidate will also be involved with construction administration and coordination with consultants. Ideal candidate will have a strong interest and prior experience in adaptive reuse architecture, revitalization and/or historic preservation. Skills & Qualifications: Minimum requirements include a 5-year B.Arch or M.Arch degree, 3 to 5 years of work experience in an architectural office and strong Construction Document experience. Candidate must be a team player and be able to communicate well with clients, consultants and contractors both in writing and verbally. Strong project management skills, proficiency in construction document preparation and CAD fluency are required. Experience and/or interest in historic preservation and small-office environment preferred. Applicant must be proficient in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Google SketchUp is preferable. |
