SENIOR LEVEL ARCHITECTURAL HISTORIAN

The Cultural Resources Division of Geo-Marine, Inc., an Environmental and Engineering services firm, headquartered in Plano, Texas, is seeking a highly motivated, professional, senior level Architectural Historian with at least five years experience in cultural resources management and proven experience in project management. The successful candidate will have experience with: Section 106 compliance; Section 110 compliance; National Register inventories and evaluations; effects determinations; developing management plans and guidelines; proposal writing; report writing; archival research; interviewing; developing in-depth historic contexts; HABS/HAER documentation; National Register nominations; and development of public outreach/public education tools. Must have experience in assessing a wide range of property types, have knowledge of various architectural styles, and knowledge of a variety of historical periods and historic themes. Familiarity with military resources, the Cold War, cultural landscapes, rural property types, irrigation studies, and dams/levees/floodways is a plus.

The successful candidate must have a Masters degree in architectural history, historic preservation, history, or a closely related field, meet the Secretary of the Interiorís Standards for professional qualifications in architectural history, have excellent writing skills, able to work within project budgets and schedules, be responsive to clients, work well independently and as a team member, be willing to travel, have good photography skills (digital and 35mm), and familiar with MS Office tools. LEED certification desirable, but not a requirement.

This is a full-time position, with a salary commensurate with experience.
