KCI Technologies has two (2) positon open for Architectural Historian to participate in research efforts related to archaeological survey, provide testing and data recovery projects, scope efforts for utility and transportation projects, and other projects that have historic research components.

Applicants should have a strong knowledge of National Register of Historic Places eligibility criteria; experience conducting historic structure surveys and completing state survey forms, determination of eligibility and determination of effect reports; and be familiar with state and federal historic preservation legislation, including Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Position requires knowledge of regional architectural history, architectural styles, associated social movements and history, as well as a minimum of 2 years experience in survey, identification, documentation and evaluation of historic resources.

Additionally, the applicant must be well organized, able to work both independently and within a team atmosphere and be willing to travel to field sites as needed throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Southeastern and Mid-Western US. The candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills and be comfortable interacting with clients, agencies and the public. Applicant must be well-versed in digital photography and related applications, and proficient in MS Word and Excel. Familiarity with Access and Photoshop is desirable.

Qualified candidates must meet the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for professional qualifications in architectural history, as well as possess a graduate degree in architectural history, historic preservation or closely related field, with coursework in American architectural history required.
